A Familiar Story

Being an unemployed witch is never a good thing. When you have no magic and a long line of job failures, it's even worse.

Especially when you have an aunt like mine. Aunt Opal is great at those disappointed 'I told you so looks'. I really didn't want to face her until I had something else lined up in the way of employment.

I owe my inspiration to a mystery novel, of all things. But at that point, I'd have tried just about anything. After all, if Stephanie Plum could catch bond jumpers, surely I could too.

And yes, I know that's comparing fiction to real life, but like I said, I was desparate. Besides, I knew the guy I'd be going after. 

I really thought I could handle it.

Yeah...not so much.
